We’re Better Together: Content, Collaboration, and the Power of Inspiration
No matter where you are in the great state of Texas, there are a few things that every educator shares.   1. Time is a precious commodity.  2. Our goal is to make every lesson engaging, relevant, and fun (but, see #1).  Tapping into the collective expertise of our colleagues is invaluable (again, see #1).  How do we balance our pedagogical aspirations within the context of these realities?  We’ll share practical strategies for designing instructional experiences that leverage the content, tools, and professional learning network that exist at our fingertips.

Video Killed the Ditto Machine
Remember the smell of worksheets fresh from the ditto machine? Probably not because it’s an outdated way to deliver information.Today, our students access YouTube when they want to learn something. Video not only killed the radio star, it also changed the way people access information. Using video to learn is an effective tool for both teacher and student. Let’s learn how to use video for good!

Video is taking over how we communicate on billboards, computers, or mobile devices. And it’s not just the adults sharing the information. Students are creators too! During this workshop, we will share how to make and manage video in the classroom for both students and teachers. We will share tips and tricks to avoid pitfalls while enhancing the benefits of video with instruction. Plus, you’ll gain hands-on practice using various tools and programs that will help leverage video to move your instruction into hyper-drive. “We can’t rewind, we’ve gone too far” with digital learning to stop now.
